President's Message From Our September 2000 Newsletter

President.
President Paul Evans-McLeod
We have had a great year, and although it still has some way to go, we confidently expect it to end as successfully as it began. All our Programmes are on track and going well.

We have had some great Family Days, the School Visitation Programme is on schedule and we recently judged the annual School Burn Poster Competition, which again had some excellent entrants making judging difficult but, as always, enjoyable. It is very encouraging seeing the young people grasping the burn prevention message. The posters are displayed as I write this on the top floor at the renamed Westfield Shoppingtown at Chartwell.

Our web site has been launched and support extended towards our dedicated nursing staff at Waikato Hospital, Ward 7. Funding applications have been completed and a new, three year contract negotiated with the Health Funding Authority. Planning is underway for the publication of a special multi-lingual, multi-cultural burn prevention book for use by schools and other organisations.

My thanks to a great Board,
Best Regards,
Paul Evans-McLeod, President.
