MINUTES FOR WAIKATO BURN SUPPORT BOARD MEETING

Held: 17th June, 2003, 7.15pm at 29 Thackeray St, Hamilton.

Matters Arising: From the 18th February 03 meeting.

   Children’s Charity.  Ray Cooper $1000  has been approved.  Julie was asked by the children Charity for deposit details.  Julie to forward request to Pam Beehan so Pam can send them a deposit slip.  It has been decided to use this money to purchase a Bath thermometer give away for the school visits.

   Studio 386,Frankton, they are getting together a quote for the committee to view.  Dianne will send details to committee to look at as soon as it is available.  Committee to let Julie know what they think.

   Trish’s Proposal was signed.

   Trish reported that there were 4 ½ boxes of English left.  It was decided that Dianne contact Wendy Pye Ltd and ask for a quote and information about the time requirements for ordering and delivery.  There was discusion about a big book size being made, Dianne to ask for costing on this as well.

Correspondence In: Newsletters various organisations. (Auckland Burnsupport e-mailed Julie and asked how much the price of our pamphlet were.  They wish to add them to their Packs).  $100 from Happiness Club, Dianne, find address of the Secretary,  Happiness Club, tell Pam so she can send a thankyou letter.

Accounts; Waikato times, Trish’s car 10,000 km check.

REPORTS: 

Treasurers Report: Read by Pam Beehan

Pam has organised a separate account for the Education Officers salery to go into.  Food for the AGM costed $60.  Paid GST.  T-shirt for camp cost was $792.00.  Doug Hawkings auditing cost $534.38.  Julie to pass onto Pam the cost of her Tolls that she has incurred.  Pam has sent off the report about the costings for camp, John helped her with this. (Thankyou very much for your help with this John).   Pam quired the Telecom accounts for the cellphone.  It appears that the credit card details have changed when Trish got a new card,  these details to be passed onto Telecom so it can be paid out of the credit card account from now on.  The cost of advertising the AGM in nthe Waikato Times was $86,  next year we will advertise in the Press at no cost.

Field Officers Report Read by Trish Ball.  Attached.

Trish reported that there were 4 ½ boxes of English left, 11 boxes Maori.  Trish organised the Gift basket to thank Doug Hawkings. ($79.95).  Pam voiced her appreciation to the committee of how thankful she was for Dougs support.  As stated in Trish’s report she has been very busy. (Thankyou Trish for your continued commitment).

Education Officers Report Read by Colleen Caldwell.  Attached.

Colleen has purchased the stickers (3 types) costing $809.91.  Thankyou Colleen for organising this.  Colleen proposed that we look at having a Keeping Safe, Big Book.  Everyone thought this was a good idea.   Trish asked Colleen to make a photocopy of 6 of the Thankyou letters that Colleen has received from schools.  Colleen to put these in with her MoH July Report.  Colleen going up to Colville staying 2 nights, will do 3 days work in the area.  Vera and Peter (Auckland Burnsupport) have asked Colleen to fax them any letters that mention their Video.  Colleen reported that she has received 50 videos all up, so far.

GENERAL BUSINESS:

   Pam asked about the Mailbox siuation and she offered to pick up the Mail due to it being more conveniant for her to pay accounts, Dianne gave her key to Julie so she also could check the mail box.

   Julie is going to send a friendly reminder letter to Liz McColl about the registration fee for camp. 

   Juli asked about Family Days.  She thought it would be nice to have one.  Suggestions were asked for.  Tin Pin Bowling, because it is undercover.  Dianne to look into costing for about 30 people.
