Waikato Burn Support Charitable Trust
Education Officer's Web Report
27th September 2005.
Hi folks, I have been really busy with lots of “burnwise” presentations.
I have had the pleasure of visiting Taumaranui High school, Parawai
Primary just to name a few.
Maeroa Intermediate took advantage of our FREE programme and all the
students participated with enthusiasm and we all enjoyed the 3 days learning
experience.
As always, my Kindergarten visits have been great and the children are all
like little sponges soaking up the valuable information about keeping safe.
I have delivered the Burn Prevention message to a number of RSA groups
with the ladies being very receptive to the information and keen to past it on
to others.
I have been working with the Fire Service in preparation for an exciting
“Staying Alive” Expo that is taking place in Oct 12th – 15th 2005 at Mystery
Creek, Hamilton. It will include a huge range of services involved in
Health and Safety.
Demonstrations, live crash demonstrations, Hazard House (to be set alight) the
Army, Hospital ward simulations (intensive care unit), St Johns, Police and a
whole lot more. I will be there with my displays and give-aways in the Fire
Service Marquee. Admission is free and all schools and the public are invited
to come along. Closer to the time it will be advertised in the Waikato Times.
Hope to see you there.
Well the year is certainly moving on and I still have a few openings in my diary
if you would like to make a booking for me to visit your school or community
group.
Take care.
Kind Regards
Colleen.
Education Officer.
