Trish Ball, founded Waikato Burn Support over eleven years ago and has acted as Field Officer until recently.  Trish has now retired from Waikato Burn Support and she and her husband Malcolm have relocated to Ruawai in the far North and we miss her input greatly.

Honored By Her Peers (QSM)

Presentation. Some time ago Trish was nominated for and received a very special honour from her majesty the Queen.  For her tireless services on behalf of Burn Survivors she was honored with a Queen's Service Medal (QSM).  We are very proud of Trish, and feel she richly deserves the accolade.  Trish  herself is self-effacing and to talk to her you would never know she has been so honored, preferring instead to focus on the practicalities of the task in front of her.  In fact she is highly focused and pursues with great energy her goal of inspiring others with her own indomitable spirit of victory over adversity.

Waikato Burn Support is very much the product of that vision and energy, having been initiated and brought into being largely by her own endeavors.  As members of the Board we feel our role is to facilitate and support, foster and encourage this vision on behalf of all Burn Survivors everywhere.  [Index]
