Date: 29th September 2002

Programme:

Arrive Kaiaua Fisheries - for sign in and lunch (sit down lunch at 12 o'clock for a NZ award winning meal of fish and chips!) Located: Just north of Miranda on the Thames coast. Check http://mirandaholidaypark.virtualave.net/activities/ for a helpful map.

Next: We visit the Miranda Shorebird Center for a gentle stroll around the center with a guest speaker discovering and meeting our wonderful native birds (129 recorded species) - a "not to be missed event for all of us".

Then: A nice relaxing time in the Miranda hot springs to sit back and enjoy as you catch up with everyone at your leisure. Situated just off highway 25 (Between Thames and Maramarua) on the Seabird Coast, turn off at Waitakaruru on to Front Miranda Road - 6km. Check your map for the best route from Hamilton etc. or ask Julie or Dianne for directions.

Membership: Note - are you a member of WBS?  Attendance is limited to financial members.  The financial year runs from 1st April - 31st March.  If in doubt check with Julie, our Membership Secretary.  Remember, it only costs $5 per year to join as a burn survivor and includes your immediate family/whanau and/or caregiver(s).  Need to know more?  Check our Membership Info page at Membership.

Confirmation: It is very important that you confirm attendance with Julie or Dianne before the 25th September so that they can book your mouthwatering lunch at the Kaiaua Fisheries Restaurant!
