Schools Education ProgrammeSchools Education Programme. (Temporarily in suspension)

A vital part of our programme is still burn prevention.  To achieve this we have sponsored a major education programme held in schools throughout our region.  The flyer on the right contains information about the programme and you can email for a copy by clicking here: Contact Us

Waitomo News.At the start of each school year our Education Officer (when available) extends an invitation to the schools throughout our region to participate in our programme and then draws up a calendar of visits to all the schools that respond.
Click the picture on the left to view a news article from the Waitomo News about our Education Programme in schools.

When active, our Education Officer talks with children, teachers and parents about Burn Prevention promoting the awareness and  practice of simple but effective techniques that insure greater safety in the home, school and elsewhere.Letter thumb.

Literature

Hot Hurts flyer. Our Burn Prevention Programme includes the provision of specially prepared literature suitable for  school children and adults, sometimes prepared in conjunction with the Fire Services and some times our own material.  These are distributed during our schools visitation programme, individually and when upon request.  For a sample of some of our follow-up material given to children in schools to take home for parents, click the "Hot Hurts" flyer thumbnail.

Feed Back

One of the things we do by way of accountability is request the various schools we visit to write back expressing their appreciation etc. of the Schools Burn Prevention Education Programme.  We are very grateful to the Headmasters who do this and we assure you that each one of your letters plays a very important part in the on-going funding of Waikato Burn Support.
