Our Mission Statement includes: "To liaise with and support initiatives by other organisations within New Zealand linked to the activities of the Waikato Burn Support Charitable Trust." 

The medical Team at Ward 7, Waikato Hospital, Burn Ward in various ways.  This year, for example, we again contributed towards  a representative being present at the ANZBA Conference in Perth during September 2000.  To read the full report of LYNLEY  GILGHRIST (Mrs)., Enrolled Nurse, who went this year click the letter image.
We also participated in the production of a  special Ward 7 book for burn survivors to help them adjust and come to terms with recovering from a burn related accident.  This project has also been recently completed and is now in use.
Distraction Therapy: WBS was able to recently assist with the costs of purchasing specially selected toys to help ward staff while changing dressings.  One of the nurses wrote: "Hi! Trish, Thanks heaps for your support and the help of WBS allowing me to get all these great toys for our ward.  It certainly makes our job a little easier and I am sure more tolerable for the children.  Thanks, Jo.
